stanąłem w oknie, patrzę:
– liliowy spływa zmrok,
tak pusto na ulicach –
za oknem cicho legł
najbielszy, pierwszy śnieg...

...i chciałem Ci powiedzieć,
że dziś, że dziś, jak wtedy
stoi Sorakte w śniegu
i w lasach leży śnieg...

...dorzucę drew na ogień,
usiądę tu, przy Tobie,
będzie nam dobrze z sobą...

Ty będziesz znów dziś mówił,
pamiętasz? tak jak wtedy,
bym się nie martwił jutrem,
ni tym, co kryją gwiazdy,
że lepiej, gdy za miastem
spotkam się z swoją Lydią...

...Doleję Ci znów wina,
wiem przecież, które lubisz...

...już dawno wygasł ogień,
popiół się tylko srebrzy,

i śmiechy już przebrzmiały,

Stanąłem w oknie, patrzę:
– za oknem cicho legł
pierwszy, najbielszy śnieg...
mówisz, że płaczę? – nie!...

– сизий плине смерк,
порожньо на вулицях –
за вікном тихо ліг
найбіліший, перший сніг...

...і сказати хотів я Тобі,
що сьогодні, тепер, як тоді,
стоїть Соракте в снігах,
і сніг лежить у лісах...

…докину дров у вогонь,
присяду з тобою вдвох,
буде нам добре разом...

Ти знов будеш, рідний, казати,
пригадуєш? так як тоді,
щоб я не думав про завтра,
ні про те, що приховують зорі,
що краще, якщо зустрінусь
за містом з моєю Лідою...

– за вікном тихо ліг
перший, найбіліший сніг...
ти кажеш, я плачу? – ні!...
